The Police--again!

Well, the boys certainly delivered.

Good god, was it a fantastic show. And my half-price eBay ticket was money well spent. I was about 20 rows back, dead-center.

Watching Stewart Copeland was my favorite part. I've always admired his skills, but mostly the way he just bangs the hell out of his snares. It even comes out in their studio albums. Watching him at work was really intense, primal and of course, hot--despite the terry cloth headband he wore (hey, he was working up a sweat, so I understand its functionality).

Sting was wonderful, of course--fun, sexy--and in contrast, didn't seem to sweat at all, even though temps were high (it was an outdoor show, at Churchill Downs). He made it all seem effortless, and appeared to be enjoying himself. And I was pleasantly surprised by how much Andy Summers just shredded the fuck out of his guitar. This guy's the same age as my Dad. Gives me hope for when I'm in my 60s.

They're all incredible musicians, and of course I always knew that, but it was great to see it firsthand.

If they come to your town, I highly recommend the show. Do like me--go alone, and maybe you can get a cheaper seat, too.
